About Me

My name is Bev Mossop. I am a wife, mother of two girls and a qualified interior designer based in Auckland, New Zealand. I have always had a passion for making things by hand and created Chatsworth Road to combined my love of timber, painting and simple geometric lines.

My art work is not mass produced which allows me to create bespoke and limited edition pieces. All of my geometric wood art is lovingly made by hand, I use recycled or renewable timber (mainly pine). Working with wood is challenging, it often has a mind of its own but each piece of timber has its own character from the knots to the grain which brings a uniqueness to every piece. I also love the warmth that wood can add to a room, and have been working with different timber thickness to add additional texture and dimension to my art. I enjoy how paint colour can transform any room. Much to my husband's dismay, I am often repainting rooms in our home so there was no doubt in my mind that paint would feature heavily in my wood art. I love the unlimited colour options.

Due to the geometric designs, many of my pieces can be hung in different orientations, changing the pattern and every piece has one or more keyholes mounts which represents how it can be hung. This allows you to keep it one way or change it as the mood suits.
